These are the screenshots I took of my level after I rendered them in Unreal Engine. I had trouble with the lava part – I just changed the water material to red and made it flow slower.

Blackthorn Gym: Texturing in Mudbox

I was inspired by the Legend of Zelda series when texturing these models in Mudbox. I wanted the elements to look like a cartoon, but more colourful.I think my style is heavily influenced by platformers such as Super Mario and Crash Bandicoot in the 90’s.

The ground tile is a bit unusual, the top is sandy and bumpy but the bottom is supposed to be made from a purple rock, with arrows engraved on the side. I wanted a bold, simple style, and it I wanted the elements to look consistent with each other.

Blackthorn Gym: Texturing in Mudbox

Modelling: Solar Panel

After receiving feedback on my work, I concentrated on improving my modelling skills in Maya. This is a solar panel I created by following tutorials on Digital Tutors.  The tutorial taught me about working with primitive geometry, adding edges and extrusions to polygon geometry and the use of NURBS based models.  I also learnt about using the outliner to organize my work and how to create clean scenes and models.
